Jean D. Halter, age 94 of Redwood Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021 surrounded by her family at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls. Private Services will be held at Peace Memorial Garden near Redwood Falls. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jean D. Halter was born July 3, 1927 on the family farm to William and Amelia (Pankonin) Pooch.  She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1945. On December 21, 1945, Jean married Floyd Halter at the Lamberton Church of Christ.  They lived near Lamberton for three years before moving to rural Redwood Falls.  In 1965, they moved into Redwood Falls. She was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church for over 60 years. Jean will be remembered for her fantastic cooking and how she always had fresh baked cookies for her grandkids.

Jean is survived by her daughters: Deb Tholkes of Redwood Falls and Vicki Sonnee of Owatonna; grandchildren: Derek (Dana) Woodford, Stacey (Jeremy) Frank, Amy (Marshall) Meier, Jamie Skluzacek, Josh Sonnee (Brooke), Heidi (Ron) Lemer, Chris Tchida; great-grandchildren: Brit (David), David (Danie), Tyler (Zach), Cole, Carson, Ashley (Kyle), Lexi, Austin, Bronson, Maddy, Isabelle, Ava, Kobe, Drue, Ali, Jaylin, Calie and Courtney; great-great-grandchildren: Olivia, Brock, August, Ainsley, Evelynn, Huntlynn, Henley, Eli, and Mila; brother-in-law Bill Halter of Springfield; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, son Mark, granddaughter Kelly, great-grandson Chris, great-granddaughter Lauren, son-in-law Doug Sonnee, Deb’s fiancé Frank Pratt, and 7 siblings.
