ELKTON, SD — A 58-year-old man from Hendricks has been arrested in connection with a February burglary at a business in Elkton.

According to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, two after-hours break-ins occurred at Twin City Fan on February 13 and February 22. Surveillance video showed an individual entering the building and taking tool batteries, chargers, and other equipment. About 20 items were reported stolen, with an estimated loss of $6,000.

With help from the public and coordination with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, investigators identified a suspect. A search warrant executed March 12 at a Hendricks residence led to the recovery of numerous stolen items.

Clifford Campbell was arrested March 13 and is now charged in South Dakota with first-degree burglary and grand theft. He is currently being held in Ivanhoe pending extradition.
