Hedwig Rybinski Citterman was born June 24, 1925 in Royal Township, Lincoln County, MN to Joseph F. and Leokadia (Pruszynski) Rybinski. She was baptized, received her 1st Holy Communion and confirmed at St John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. She attended the St John Cantius Parochial School thru the 8th grade and then helped on the family farm with field work, taking care of the farm animals and helping with her siblings. She also would help neighbors with various household chores and care giving of their children.

Hedwig was united in marriage to Norbert B. Citterman on October 16, 1951 at St John Cantius Church. They farmed in Marble township all their lives. Hedwig assisted in the fields as well as milking cows, tending the poultry, gardening, growing flowers and sewing. She enjoyed making small quilts for her children and grandchildren. Other pleasures were driving around the section to check on the farm crops and cows with Norbert and visits with her children, grandchildren, siblings, neighbors and friends. She enjoyed polka music and dancing. She loved when Norbert played the piano, guitar and accordion. When Norbert passed away on April 18, 2019, it was very devastating to Hedwig as she was dealing with various health issues including dementia and Alzheimer’s. After Norbert’s passing, she became a resident of Divine Providence Health Care and later she moved in with Dan and Brenda. On October 21, 2019 she entered Sanford Canby Health and Hospice Care. Her faith was very important; as one soul passes, one soul is born into the world. Her most recent great-grandchild Bryce Citrowske was born the same day she passed.

She is survived by her children: Daniel (Brenda) Citterman and Jeanne (Frank) Bednarek; son-in-law, Rob Deslauriers; grandchildren: Rebecca (Brandon) Paluch, Robert (Sarah) Citterman, Kristen (Stephen) Walker, Michael (Kelsey) Bednarek, Richard (Heather) Bednarek, Joseph (Skylar) Bednarek, Chelsea (Jason) Citrowske, John Deslauriers, Billy Deslauriers, Callie Deslauriers; great-grandchildren: Seth and Zach Paluch, Jacob, Jackson and Jaycen Citterman, Faith and Sophie Walker, Mckenzie, Allison and Leigha Bednarek, Haley and Emily Bednarek and Bryce Citrowske; siblings: Mary Pavek, Agnes Rybinski, Regina Rybinski, Richard (Kaleen) Rybinski, Gene (Kathy) Rybinski, sisters-in-law: Hedwig Ratajczak, Floryne, Frances, Betty and Deloris Citterman; and brother-in-law, Floyd Marczak: and many nieces and nephews.
