MORTON – One person was found dead following a house fire in Morton on Friday evening. According to law enforcement officials, dispatch received a call about a house fire on Reservation Highway 1 and the Redwood Falls Fire Department responded to the scene by 8:13 Friday evening. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, however firefighters located the body of a deceased female inside.
The State Fire Marshall’s Office is assisting local officials with the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
Assistance was provided by the Lower Sioux Tribal Police Department, Morgan Police Department, Carris Health Ambulance, and the Morton Fire Department.
