Presentation is at the Public Library\, 366 Morgan St. in Tracy 6:30 – 7:30 pm. \nA presentation of what was once the largest manhunt in U.S. history. After the Northfield bank robbery. The James/Younger Gang fled across southern Minnesota and into Dakota Territory before making their way back to Missouri. Detailed maps resulting from years of research will document the gang’s various stops along the way. \nThis project was funded in part or in whole with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4\, 2008 which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota’s arts and cultural heritage.

At 6:30 pm in the conference room on the 2nd floor\, Joseph Amato will give the talk\, “How Southwest Minnesota Became Home. Forty Years of Living in and Studying a Place”. The talk will be based on his forthcoming autobiography\, Spring of Springs\, one of recent treatments of self\, as he will explain. \nAt the November 2024 board meeting\, the LCHS Board of Directors approved naming the research room the Joseph A. Amato Research Center in recognition of Joe’s work in rural and regional history.

What better way to do so than by supporting Bridging Brown County during their first annual Networking Golf tournament on Tuesday\, June 11th at the Springfield Golf Course. Check in is at noon\, with a 1:30 pm shotgun start following. Format: 9-holes\, four-person best ball. \nYour generosity helps us continue to focus on what matters the most\, Strengthening the Brown County community by bridging relationships of understanding and communication. Which is why this is not only a golf tournament but a networking event as well\, with different opportunities to network with the other golfers throughout the afternoon\, as well as with the speaker during dinner.
