The Lyon County Historical Society Annual Meeting is Thursday, June 2nd at the Marshall-Lyon County Library community room, 201 C Street, Marshall.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  Pasta buffet starts at 5:30 PM.  The historical society business meeting is at 6:00 PM.  At 6:30 PM, guest speaker, Marshall Mayor Robert Byrnes, will speak on “Marshall History: Thirty Topics for the Past 30 Years”.  Marshall was founded by the Winona, and St. Peter Railroad ( a subsidiary of the Chicago & North Western Railway) in 1872.  The community is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.  Mayor Byrnes has been the mayor of Marshall [...]

BBQ-Poster-2022 Lucan Lions Club 43rd Annual Beef BBQ will be Friday, June 10, 2022, serving from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Lucan Community Center. Menu: BBQ Beef, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Chips, Pickles, Bread, Coffee & Juice. Later check out youth ball games in the park. These events will kick off Lucan’s Pretzel Days. Stop by and view the historic Redwood Lodge between 1-3pm on Saturday, June 11. Originally the park custodian cabin, the lodge was constructed during the New Deal era by the Veteran's Conservation Corps (VCC). It is now a reservable guesthouse for park visitors.Free park entry to MN state parks on Saturday, June 11.

The Balaton Community Center will be hosting a fundraiser to help Deb Knapper Harden with her medical expenses. Deb has been diagnosed with cancer, she and her family will appreciate your support. So join us again at the Balaton Community Center on June 11th from 1pm-4pm.

Join Marshall Lyon County Library staff around the campfire at 6pm in the North Picnic Area for stories and activities. Also be on the lookout for the library’s new book bike! This event is free; there is no park entrance fee on Saturday, June 11.

Two MN state park permits are newly available for check-out at the Marshall Lyon County library. We’re going to celebrate that with a Read in the Park Day. On Saturday, June 11 visitors are encouraged to find a good book and beautiful place to read. Participants will be eligible to enter a drawing for a $25 MN state park gift card. Free books will be available at the ranger station.It's also free park day on Saturday, June 11. All are invited to enjoy the park (and hopefully a good book)!

The Walk for Memories 5k run is an event that is spreading Dementia awareness. This event will be held at The Marshall Area YMCA and there is no registration needed with no fee. You do not have to run the 5k walking is an option as well. The 5k will be taking place Thursday, June 16th from 4-7pm. More information is listed on the flyer displayed.
