DESCRIPTION:Register now for the Winter Crops Day & Small Grains Program in Slayton \n  \nJoin us for the University of Minnesota Extension Winter Crops Day and Small Grains Program\, Thursday\, Feb. 19\, at the 4-H Building\, 3048 Broadway Ave.\, in Slayton. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m.\, with the program running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Whether you farm or work with farmers\, this program is a great opportunity to hear the latest University-based research and information around corn\, soybean\, and small grain production issues and management strategies. The morning session will highlight corn and soybean production systems while the afternoon session will focus on small grains. \n  \nPlease pre-register to reserve yourself a meal by noon Tuesday\, Feb. 17 at z.umn.edu/SlaytonWCD2026\, or by calling the Murray County Extension Office at 507-836-6927. Thanks to generous support from local sponsors\, there is no cost to attend the program. \n  \nSchedule for the Winter Crops Day & Southern Small Grains program: \n· Check-in: 8:30 – 9 a.m. \n· Winter Crops Day presentations: 9 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. \n· Lunch: 12:15 – 12:45 p.m. \n· Agency program updates: 12:45 – 1 p.m. \n· Southern Small Grains Program: 1 – 3 p.m. \n  \nThe morning session will start off with Liz Stahl\, Extension educator in crops\, discussing “What’s new on the pest management front”. Brian Boomgaarden\, Farm Business Management instructor from MN West Community and Technical College will follow with “Corn and Soybean Budget outlooks for 2026.” Brad Carlson\, Extension educator in water resources\, crops\, and soils will then discuss “Advancing Nitrogen Management in 2026”\, followed by Bailey Tangen\, Extension educator in water resources and soil health\, with a discussion on “Applying Soil Health Management to Reduce Weather Risks.” CEUs have been applied for the morning sessions. \n  \nThe afternoon session will be presented by Dr. Jochum Wiersma\, UMN Extension small grains specialist. DESCRIPTION:Mingle with a Purpose: Women’s Networking Event Returns in 2026 \n  \nNew Ulm\, MN— The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to host its 12th annual Mingle with a Purpose: Women’s Networking Event\, a meaningful evening designed to bring women together for connection\, inspiration\, and personal and professional growth.  The event will take place on Thursday\, February 19\, 2026\, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Best Western Plus – New Ulm Conference Center. \n\nMingle with a Purpose is open to all women and offers a welcoming space to network\, build relationships\, and leave feeling energized and encouraged—whether attendees are focused on career development\, personal growth\, or simply connecting with other women in the community.  In this high-energy\, interactive keynote by local speaker Ann Vote\, women are invited to Reflect on their journey\, Realign their vision for what’s possible\, and Rise into bold\, purposeful action.  Blending powerful storytelling with audience engagement\, this session helps women connect with their inner fire and own the influence they bring to the world.  Through meaningful conversations and guided reflection\, attendees will gain clarity on what they truly want—and the confidence to go after it.  Whether they’re navigating transition\, craving more alignment\, or simply ready for what’s next\, attendees will leave with a personal action plan and the renewed belief that she can create a life of intention\, purpose\, and impact. \n\nEach participant will receive an Ignite Your Impact Workbook to keep their reflections\, ideas\, and action plan at hand during and following the event.  The goal is to have a lasting impact on the women in the room to truly go after the dreams they may have tucked away. \n\nDoors will open at 5:00 p.m. for mingling\, heavy hors d’oeuvres\, and a cash bar\, with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Tickets are $40 for Chamber members and $45 for the general public. Early-bird pricing is $5 less and available through January 31!  Tickets are available at the Chamber office (1 N.
