The Lyon County Historical Society Annual Meeting is Thursday, June 2nd at the Marshall-Lyon County Library community room, 201 C Street, Marshall. Doors open at 5:00 PM. Pasta buffet starts at 5:30 PM. The historical society business meeting is at 6:00 PM. At 6:30 PM, guest speaker, Marshall Mayor Robert Byrnes, will speak on “Marshall History: Thirty Topics for the Past 30 Years”. Marshall was founded by the Winona, and St. Peter Railroad ( a subsidiary of the Chicago & North Western Railway) in 1872. The community is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
