There are 2 parts to the program. In the first half\, “Amelia” arrives in costume and shares highlights of her amazing life story… growing up in Kansas on the banks of the Missouri River\, frequent moves as a child\, finding her interest in flying\, her momentous flying events\, her marriage\, and her thoughts on women. She discusses how we all need to find the courage to do what we want in life.\nIn Part 2\, Amelia leaves\, and her cousin Nancy steps in to share “The Rest of the Story”\, about what went wrong on Amelia’s last flight\, theories about what happened to her cousin\, Amelia’s marriage\, the books she wrote\, how she made money for future flights\, and so on. \nNancy Earhart Burt is a proud second cousin\, 3 times removed to Amelia Earhart. Nancy developed this program on her cousin Amelia in 2023\, and has presented many times in Arizona\, Idaho\, South Dakota\, and Minnesota. Nancy has had a life-long interest in women’s issues\, as had her cousin Amelia. She has a master’s degree in counseling and has held a variety of “helping” positions including college instructor\, non-profit director\, corporate trainer and career counselor. DESCRIPTION:The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the return of the New Ulm Downtown Car & Bike Roll-In series\, kicking off on Saturday\, August 16\, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in historic downtown New Ulm. \nBack in its second year\, the Roll-In series invites car and motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages to display and admire a wide range of classic vehicles – no registration required. Minnesota Street\, from 3rd North to 1st South\, will be closed to traffic and open for guests to stroll through and enjoy the vehicles and community atmosphere. Vehicle owners may also pick up a registration card upon arrival to display in their window and enter for a chance to win prizes. \nIn addition to the showcase of vehicles\, attendees can enjoy live DJ music outdoors during the event\, with music continuing indoors until 11:00 p.m. The August 16 Roll-In will also feature food trucks offering a variety of delicious options: Legacy BBQ\, Lola’s Food Truck\, Jersey’s Food Truck\, and NU Franklin Mobile. Visitors are encouraged to explore downtown shops\, dine at local restaurants\, and enjoy beverages from participating establishments. Alcoholic beverages purchased from downtown bars and restaurants may be consumed on the street within the designated event area; however\, glass containers are not allowed. \nAdmission is free\, and all are welcome to attend. DESCRIPTION:Southwest Minnesota Arts Council announces \nGallery Exhibit & Two Artist Receptions \nfeaturing the artwork of \nDORIS STANDS \n  \nExhibit runs September 11 – October 24\, 2025 \nCheck out this exhibit either in-person or virtually* \nThe SMAC GALLERY is located at 509 West Main Street\, Marshall \nRegular office hours: Monday – Friday 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm \n\n  \nMeet Doris \nMy art work is cultural and is rooted in Native American traditional art forms. Horse regalia has been a part of Dakota history for many generations\, it is re-emerging amongst the horse nation in Indian Country. I am proud to be a part of the revitalization of this amazing art form. \n  \nI have created traditional horse regalia in life size\, wearable by live horses and a mini version for display. I have created many traditional dance regalia outfits over the years for my family and my grandchildren. I have created ribbon skirts and shirts worn for ceremony and honoring events. I have also made star quilts for ceremony and honoring/memorial events. I have participated in art displays in the community and for Lower Sioux where I am an enrolled member. DESCRIPTION:The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the return of the New Ulm Downtown Car & Bike Roll-In series\, kicking off on Saturday\, August 16\, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in historic downtown New Ulm. \nBack in its second year\, the Roll-In series invites car and motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages to display and admire a wide range of classic vehicles – no registration required. Minnesota Street\, from 3rd North to 1st South\, will be closed to traffic and open for guests to stroll through and enjoy the vehicles and community atmosphere. Vehicle owners may also pick up a registration card upon arrival to display in their window and enter for a chance to win prizes. \nIn addition to the showcase of vehicles\, attendees can enjoy live DJ music outdoors during the event\, with music continuing indoors until 11:00 p.m. The August 16 Roll-In will also feature food trucks offering a variety of delicious options: Legacy BBQ\, Lola’s Food Truck\, Jersey’s Food Truck\, and NU Franklin Mobile. Visitors are encouraged to explore downtown shops\, dine at local restaurants\, and enjoy beverages from participating establishments. Alcoholic beverages purchased from downtown bars and restaurants may be consumed on the street within the designated event area; however\, glass containers are not allowed. \nAdmission is free\, and all are welcome to attend. This exhibit aims to bring Oscar Howe’s life and artistic legacy to community spaces across the region. The exhibit features eight banners that explore the artistic development and biographical details of the Yanktonai Dakota artist who helped to expand the definition and understanding of Native arts. The exhibit will be on display at the Pipestone County Museum from September 16-30. It will then travel to Pipestone Area Schools where it will be on display for students in the MS/HS Library from October 1-15 before returning to the Museum for a second showing October 16–28. The public is invited to visit the Pipestone County Museum during this time to see the exhibit. Admission to the Museum galleries is $3.00. \nThe Pipestone County Museum is located at 113 S.
