DESCRIPTION:Give the Gift of Life: \nBlood Drive at Russell – Tyler – Ruthton High School on April 8 \nCommunity Blood Bank invites community members to roll up their sleeves and make a difference at an upcoming blood drive on Wednesday\, April 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at R-T-R High School (111 County Road 8\, Tyler\, MN). Schedule a donation appointment by logging into www.cbblifeblood.org\, selecting “Donate Now”\, “Blood Drive Calendar”\, and choosing April 8th or call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222. Walk-ins are welcome\, but appointments are preferred. \nAs a thank-you for their generosity\, all blood donors will receive a $20 Dairy Queen gift card\, a small token of appreciation for a contribution that carries enormous impact. \n“Spring is here\, and the need for blood is ever-present. Every day\, blood is needed to treat accident victims\, trauma patients\, and even those facing pregnancy complications\,” states Ken Versteeg\, Executive Director\, Community Blood Bank. “The strength of local blood supplies depends on the willingness of community members to answer the call. Each donation that is made helps shore up those supplies; each one that isn’t puts additional pressure on an already stretched resource. Now is the time to join in. Be the person who steps forward\, the one who makes the difference for a neighbor\, a stranger\, or a loved one in their moment of greatest need. Your single donation can help save up to three lives.” \nCommunity Blood Bank is owned by Sanford and Avera Health\, providing blood to the area for over 50 years. We are grateful support provided by Avera Tyler Hospital\, and community members that maintains a strong community blood supply. If you haven’t considered donating blood\, know that your 30 minute donation will provide life-saving benefits and a hope filled future for local patients. \n  \nPeople interested in donating blood must be generally healthy\, at least 16 years old (with parental consent)\, weight at least 110 pounds. Please bring a photo ID with you to your donation. For more information about the blood drive\, eligibility requirements\, or to schedule an appointment\, log onto cbblifeblood.org.
