Eugene Antone Citrowske was born February 6, 1944 in Canby, MN to John and Agnes (Callens) Citrowske. He grew up in a large family on a farm near St. Leo, MN. Growing up, Gene was a constant companion to all his siblings whether it was building tree houses, coloring on a winter day, playing hide and seek outside, making tunnels in snowbanks, taking a dip in the pond, picking apples, fixing fence and machinery along side his brothers, finding hen eggs, driving the 4 – wheeler and tractors, watching the cattle gate or throwing hay bales. He was always part of the fun and work. His eyes always lit up when a newborn brother or sister was placed in his harms, creating a lasting unbreakable loveable sibling bond. Gene lived at home until his dad passed away and then lived with Greg and Ruth and family for five years. He then resided in the Minneota Manor Assisted Living in MInneota.  In his later years, as the nieces and nephews came into his life, Gene extended his gracious heart to each one. Each one felt his loving kind heart, his hearty laugh and ready acceptance. Gene loved working with wood; making bird houses and small wooden boxes he would give away as gifts. He loved driving his 4-wheeler around the farm and countryside and taking snap shots of everything he liked with his camera. Gene always had his music blaring as loud as was “allowable”, Elvis Presley, ZZ Top and Johnny Cash were some of his favorites.

Gene is survived by his siblings: Estelle (Larry) Braun, Pat (Don) Buysse, Roger (Diane) Citrowske, Janey (Leon) Gust, Evey (Duane) Anderson, Lori (Denny) Carmassi, Kathie Weston, Johnny (Gail) Citrowske, Vonnie (Mike) Tillemans, Mari (Byron) Burleson, Karen Robinson, Kevin Citrowske, Greg (Ruth) Citrowske, and Jeff Citrowske; sisters-in-law: Joan Citrowske and Betty Schmidt; many nieces and nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Citrowske; infant brother Joey Citrowske; brothers: Danny (Judy) Citrowske, Steve, Allen and Ody Citrowske; brothers-in-law: Paul Robinson and Mark Weston.
