Donna Goblirsch, age 86, formerly of Tyler, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Prairie View Nursing Home in Tracy, Minnesota. Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2022 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM.  Burial will be at St. Dionysius Catholic Cemetery after the service.  The Hartquist Funeral Home’s Tyler Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Donna Marie Goblirsch was born on November 11, 1936 in Leavenworth Township, Minnesota to Anton and Veronica (Stadick) Suess. She was baptized and later confirmed at the Church of Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth, Minnesota. During her high school years, the family moved to a farm west of Wabasso, Minnesota in 1950. She attended Wabasso High School and graduated in 1954. Donna worked as a secretary to an attorney in Tracy, Minnesota from 1954 to 1956. On January 22, 1957, Donna was united in marriage to Bernard Goblirsch at Our Lady of Victoria Church in Lucan, Minnesota. They resided in Wabasso until 1975 and then moved to Tyler, Minnesota. In 1981, they moved to Garvin, Minnesota and then back to Tyler in 1986. Donna worked as a secretary at St. Dionysius Catholic Church and Doug Hess Investment, both in Tyler. Donna retired in 2011. She spent three years in nursing home and assisted living facilities in Balaton, Minnesota. Her last two years were spent at Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy where on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, she died peacefully at the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 17 days.  Donna was a member of St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler and the Council of Catholic Women. Donna enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening, canning, and baking. She was known for her delicious dill pickles and homemade buns. Donna loved puzzles, especially jigsaw puzzles. You could always find a jigsaw puzzle in progress in her living room. She also enjoyed classic television shows (especially Gunsmoke and Bonanza), trips to local casinos with her sisters, and family gatherings for Tyler’s Aebleskiver Days. She loved sports and was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan.

Donna is lovingly remembered by her five children, Greg (Vicki) Goblirsch of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Renee (Joe) Witwicke of Roseville, Minnesota, Pam (Ron) Thooft of Russell, Minnesota, Ron (special friend Beth) Goblirsch of Albertville, Minnesota, and Steve (Nancy) Goblirsch of Elko, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren, Kyle (Heidi) Goblirsch, Corey (Heidi) Goblirsch, Chelsea (Alec) Brandt, Chris Witwicke, Brent (Sara) Thooft, Kristi (Jeremy) Jensen, Casey (Dan) Paluch, Shane (Amy) Goblirsch, Andrew Goblirsch, Sam (Jay) Chlan, Brandon Goblirsch, and Sarah (fiancé Connor) Goblirsch; 20 great-grandchildren, Trey, Brayden, Addy, Maggie, George, Vince, Maelyn, Tenley, Liam, Adley, Eastyn, Archer, Tracker, Ajax, Dyson, Ledger, Kiernan, McKenna, Carson, and Maizie; and siblings, Norma Brau of St. Olaf, Iowa and Diane Doom of Marshall, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie; parents, Anton and Veronica Suess; siblings, Anton Suess Jr., Betty Fischer, Bernie Knisley, Linus Suess, and Elaine Miller; daughter-in-law, Lisa Goblirsch; and great-grandchild, Theo Paluch.
