Diane Caron, age 80, of Marshall, Minnesota, died peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.  Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Interment be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, followed by a lunch reception back at the church.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.  The afternoon will begin with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and the evening will conclude with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will then continue one hour prior to her service, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., on Monday at the church.  Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.

Diane Mary Lanners was born on February 16, 1943, at the family home in St. Leo, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Hugo and Clara (Kack) Lanners. Diane was baptized, received first communion, and was confirmed in the Catholic Church. She attended parochial school in St. Leo through the 8th grade and then graduated from Canby High School.  On September 15, 1962, Diane was united in marriage to Donald Caron at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Ghent and raised three boys. Diane worked for many years at Schwan’s, both in the sandwich plant and later in the call center prior to her retirement. She then spent several years assisting Don with his promotional advertising business prior to his death in 2002.  Diane was a loving mother with a steadfast faith. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters, Council of Catholic Women, and the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at the Avera Gift Shop and also with Prairie Home Hospice. Diane’s other enjoyments in life included camping at the casino, playing cards, dominoes, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Diane Caron died on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in Marshall, Minnesota. She had reached the age of 80 years, 8 months, and 3 days. Blessed and eternal be her memory.

She is survived by her three children, Del (and Melani) Caron of Green Valley, AZ, Daryl Caron of South Lake Tahoe, CA, Dion (and Esther) Caron of Marshall; 5 grandchildren, Danyelle (and Alex) Nishikawa of San Tan Valley, AZ, Mitch Caron of Queen Creek, AZ, Trevor Caron of Queen Creek, AZ, Andrea (and Jaryn) Homiston of Fargo, ND, Damian Caron (and Kalli Anderson) of Fargo, ND, 4 great-grandchildren, Isabell Nishikawa, Lilly Nishikawa, Will Nishikawa, Mara Homiston; siblings, Polly Posten of Minneapolis, Madie Sik of Canby, Dan Lanners of Dubuque, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Hugo Lanners; husband, Don Caron; and an infant son, Damian Allen Caron.
