DeSmet named as new Lyon County Emergency Manager

MARSHALL (KMHL) – Lyon County has a new emergency manager – and he has a familiar name and face to the Marshall area.

Dan DeSmet, the current manager of North Memorial Ambulance in Marshall, has been named as the county’s new emergency manager. DeSmet has had a long career with both the ambulance service and in law enforcement.

He replaces Tammy VanOverbeke, who retired in November.

DeSmet will begin his new job in February.
