The funeral service for Dale Furan, 77, of Garvin, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 5, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with prayers and sharing of memories at 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Lake Sarah Lutheran Church. Interment will take place at the Modum Cemetery in Slayton, MN. The Horvath Funeral Service in Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Dale Rudolph Furan was born on August 8, 1945, in Tyler, MN, to Rudolph and Velma “Dotty” Furan. Dale attended country school, Garvin elementary and graduated from Tracy High School in 1963. He was a third generation farmer and farmed with passion his whole life. He loved animals and always had cattle on the farm. Dale was also passionate about Lake Sarah Lutheran Church. He was an active member and served on the church council, as an usher, and volunteer in many capacities. Dale also enjoyed following the Minnesota Vikings.
Dale died unexpectedly at his residence in Garvin on Saturday, April 1, 2023. He is survived by his siblings Diane (Ray) Gould of Zimmerman, MN, Jim (Linda) Furan of Ramsey, MN, special friend Sue Arends of Cottonwood and nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Dotty Furan.
