Curtis Jean Kenyon was born on October 13, 1933, to Harry R. and Mildred (Curtis) Kenyon near St. Lawrence, South Dakota. In 1940, the family moved to Minnesota and lived in Brooten for three years before making their home in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1951 and attended Mankato State College for 2 years before serving in the Army for 2 years. In 1958, Curt graduated from Mankato State with a Bachelor’s Arts Degree.  On March 25, 1957, Curt was united in marriage to Beverly Krick in Mankato, Minnesota. On July 1, 1958, he began a 32-year long career with Equifax Company. After retiring, Curt found employment at Weiner Memorial Hospital and worked in the Maintenance Department for 18 years.  Curt was a member of the Lion’s Club for 50 years and was also a very faithful member of the Cornerstone Methodist Church. Curt and his son, Greg, delivered the Minneapolis Tribune to his friends on Christmas Day while the rest of their family sat at home and waited for them to return so they could celebrate and eat their meal. Curt’s paper route grew over the years and eventually he was delivering about 50 papers regularly! While he loved this job, he realized that it was getting to be a little too much work and decided to hand off the route. In his free time, Curt enjoyed traveling, especially within the United States and throughout Europe. Some of his favorite memories included the numerous trips with the WCCO Radio Group.

Curtis Jean Kenyon died peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 1, 2023. He had reached the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 18 days. Blessed be his memory.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly Kenyon of Marshall; three children, Gregory Kenyon of St. Paul, Karen (and Michael) Greenblat and their son Andrew of Maple Grove, Lezlie Kenyon of Marshall; sister, Mary Alice Cary of Shelton, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.  Curt is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mildred Kenyon, and one sister, Marjorie Kay Brandow.
