Clarice Joan (Ochocki) Haugen passed away August 22, 2022 after complications of cancer surgery. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 9 at the Westbrook Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be held in Ivanhoe, Minnesota at a later date.
Clarice Joan Haugen was born October 13, 1942, in Tyler Minnesota to Ladis and Winnafred (Urben) Ochocki. She grew up on the family farm 5 miles south of Ivanhoe MN. She went to District 61 Country School through 8th grade and attended and graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1960. She and Jesse Cross were married in August of 1960 at SS Peter & Paul Church in Ivanhoe. Clarice remained on the farm, with her parents, until her husband was discharged from the Army. Clarice and Jesse lived in several places over the next few years where they raised their three sons Jereld, James & Michael. In 1972 She moved to Westbrook where she was a mom and a homemaker for her boys and her partner Al Brant. In October of 1983 Al Brandt was killed in a tragic hunting accident after which Clarice continued to live in Westbrook. Clarice married Clarence “Lindy” Haugen on December 23, 1991. Clarice moved to Currie and lived in her home there until her death. She was a single mother and provider for her boys and worked as a waitress for 20 years, a line worker at Tracy Minnetronix for seven years and a production worker at Page-1 Printers in Slayton MN for 16 years where she retired in June of 2017. Clarice was a partner, wife and mother. She lived her life each day in service, dedication and love to those around her. Her three boys were here pride and joy and she dedicated herself to being an amazing mother and to provide the best life for her sons.
Clarice is survived by two sons, James in Moore, TX and Michael (Jolyne) in Apple Valley, MN. 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. One brother, Roger (Diana) Ochocki in Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews for whom she was always be Auntie Coco. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lindy, her son Jereld and four brothers Ed, Larry, Lloyd and Dennis.
