Claire Pritchett, age 88, of Lake Benton, Minnesota, died peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Avantara Redfield in Redfield, South Dakota.  Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Lake Benton with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 PM.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the church.  Burial will follow in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lake Benton.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hartquist Funeral Home – Lake Benton Chapel.

Carol Rae Taubert was born March 27, 1937 in San Diego, California to Clara (Hovland) and Roy Anderson. She grew up in San Diego, the oldest child of the Anderson family. Her father was a naval career man. They lived for a short time in North Fork, Virginia, during her father’s service but most of their time was in San Diego. The family attended Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in San Diego, where Carol was baptized on May 13, 1937 and confirmed her faith on May 25, 1952. Carol was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Creek, Minnesota where she served on circle and attended many session meetings over the years. She was known for preparing Easter morning brunch for her congregational family. She served as a 4-H leader when her children were in the program. Carol was creative and a talented seamstress. She sewed many clothes for her family and taught her children to sew. She crocheted, made dolls, cabbage patch kids and many other crafts. Carol and Harvey loved partnership in life and on the dance floor. They spent many nights square dancing in the 60’s and 70’s. They would get together with friends and neighbors and dance the night away. Carol was a great cook and loved making food for her family and friends. Everyone loved when Carol was cooking! Throughout her life, she held strong to family values, her faith in Jesus, and lived with a generous heart.

Carol is survived by her children, Harveen (Bruce) Gluf of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kristi (Rob) Taubert-Geffs of Phoenix, Arizona, Philip (Beth) Taubert of Sioux Falls, Renae (Martin) Murphy of San Diego, Aris Ruth Taubert (Maurice Mechels) of Luverne, Minnesota, and Mark (Penni) Taubert of Beaver Creek; 16 grandchildren, Maria, Thomas, Suzanne, Vanessa, Erika, Daniel, Seth, Matthew, Disa, Shaun, Tami, Ramona, Jacob, Raya and Markie; 27 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; sister, Barbara Trzynka of Morning View, Kentucky; and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; her parents; and infant granddaughter, Anna Taubert.
