Charlotte Johnson, age 49, of Ruthton, Minnesota, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Country Church in Ruthton. A private funeral service will be held at The Country Church with burial to follow in Hope Cemetery in Tyler, Minnesota. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hartquist Funeral Home – Pipestone Chapel.
Charlotte Stacy Johnson was born on May 10, 1971 to Gordon VanLerberghe and Nyla Buchert in Marshall, Minnesota. She was raised in Tyler, Minnesota and attended school at RTR. She held various jobs throughout her life and most recent was employed at Buffalo Ridge Express in Ruthton, Minnesota. Charlotte attended the Country Church in Ruthton where she was baptized and born again. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, candle making, and decorating. She also enjoyed going on walks and being outside. She will be remembered for her smile and the love in her eyes. She liked peanut butter on pancakes and on sandwiches with meat. She was always joking around and giving everyone a hard time. Charlotte was a hard worker and was a selfless person. She loved the Lord and she loved people. Her most important things in her life were her children and granddaughter, she truly treasured the time she spent with them. Charlotte passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 49 years, nine months, and 16 days.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Sean (Richelle) Santana of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Daniel (Brittany) Johnson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Brook Johnson of Ruthton; her mother, Nyla Buchert of Pipestone, Minnesota; one granddaughter, Emma Santana of Nebraska City, Nebraska; her special friend, Gary Lund of Ruthton; sister, Maria (Shawn) Johnson of Pipestone; brother, Kelly (Jonie) VanLerberghe of Tyler; nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces; and Arlan Johnson of Ruthton. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon VanLerberghe and her brother, Ryan VanLerberghe. Charlotte’s family would appreciate if you direct memorials to the Hartquist Funeral Home to be applied to the funeral bill.
