The funeral service for Carol Edwards, 73, of Marshall, will be Friday, June 18, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  The Horvath Funeral Service of Marshall is handling the arrangements.

Carol Ann (Blomme) Edwards was born on February 16, 1948, in Marshall to Emil and Alice (Dierickx) Blomme. Carol was the youngest of three daughters. She attended Catholic school in Marshall, graduating from Central Catholic High School. On February 2, 1974, Carol was united in marriage to Jim “Nibs” Edwards at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She worked for Schott’s Corporation for a time. Carol was a caring wife and a mother, always keeping her home clean and organized. Carol and Jim enjoyed traveling. They had a camper by Alexandria for close to 30 years, and they spent winters in Arizona for 27 years. Carol was a very social person, and she enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, whether at coffee clubs or casinos. She loved her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Carol’s faith was very important to her, and she prayed every night.

Carol died on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Prairie Home Hospice McLaughlin House in Marshall. She is survived by her daughter Wendy (Jon) Swanson of Lynd; grandchildren Dylan, Devynn, Teagan, and Colter; sisters Marie (Larry) Kor of Cottonwood and Louise (Larry) Schmidt of Marshall; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jim.
