Bonnie E. Tubbs, age 96, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living Center in Marshall. Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The afternoon will conclude with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.

Ethel Yvonne “Bonnie” Earnest was born on April 14, 1925, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Lloyd Seth and Mamie Ruth (Green) Earnest. In her younger years, her family spent time in Canada and Iowa where her father worked as a farmhand. She received most of her education in Lake City and Lohrville, Iowa.  1944, Bonnie was united in marriage to Earl Persons. The couple made their home in Iowa and Southwest Minnesota. This union was blessed with 6 children (each claiming to be the favorite). On February 10, 1963, Bonnie was united in marriage to Richard “Squint” Tubbs. The couple lived in several communities in the Marshall area. Upon Squint’s death in 1999, Bonnie lived and worked in Palm Springs, California, for 8 years before retiring to Wabasso, where she lived until March of 2021.  Bonnie enjoyed working retail at various locations in the Marshall area. In addition, she loved spending time with her family, entertaining people with her yodeling, and singing. (She always said she learned to yodel in the outhouse). Other interests included fishing, embroidering, and playing the dice game Greedy. She was a long-time Eagles Club member.

Bonnie died on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living Center in Marshall, Minnesota. She reached the age of 96 years, 7 months, and 7 days.

Bonnie is survived by her 6 children, Kathy Wille of Lady Lake, FL, Janice Larson of Balaton, Arlene (Mick) Williams of Tyler, Philip Persons (Heine Stanhope) of Hemet, CA, Charlotte (Tom) Schmidt of St. Paul, Sue (K.C.) Paulson of Isle; 14 grandchildren, Ervin Wille, Lonna Wille, Shelly Nachreiner, Don Larson, Annie Weets, Jodi Baune, Stefanie Baune, Seth “Duke” Williams, Eric Williams, Dale Gannott, Judy Reed, Wade Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Dustin Johnson, 34 great-grandchildren, 7 (soon to be 8) great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Phyllis Winans of Morristown, AZ, Shirley Jones of Willow Beach, AZ, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.  Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Squint” Tubbs, her parents, sons-in-law, Ken Wille, George Larson, granddaughter, Tammy Kenne, great-granddaughter, Alyssa Wille, and 9 siblings.
