NEW ULM — Around 1:00 AM on March 5, deputies responded to western BEC in search of a red 2012 Chrysler 200 that had fled from Brown County deputies. Located near Lake Crystal at approximately 1:13 AM, the driver refused to stop, prompting another pursuit on tar and gravel roads west of Lake Crystal. Deputies successfully used Stop Stick tire deflation devices to halt the chase. However, the driver fled on foot and remains at large. Identified as 25-year-old Sean Eric Vanmeveren of Garvin, MN, he is suspected not only in this pursuit but also in the overnight theft of a red 2012 GMC Sierra pickup with MN license 733KMU in the same area. Vanmeveren has warrants for his arrest and is involved in multiple pursuits across Redwood and neighboring southwestern MN counties.
