MILAN – An Appleton man has died, and several others are injured after a two-vehicle collision on US Highway 59 in Chippewa County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 4:19 Sunday afternoon, a 2006 Chevy Silverado was traveling southbound on Highway 59 and a 2007 Jeep Commander was traveling northbound on Highway 59 when they collided. 

The driver of the Chevy, 35-year-old Curtis Dean Olson of Appleton, died from injuries sustained in the accident. One of his passengers, 29-year-old Amy Marie Olson, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Appleton Area Health. Two more passengers in the Chevy, a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Appleton Area Health. 

The driver of the Jeep, 31-year-old Presley Lynn Boogard of Odessa, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
