MARSHALL (KMHL) – Weather officials say 6 tornadoes touched down in southwest Minnesota Saturday evening.

The National Weather Service office in Sioux Falls had previously confirmed a tornado that damaged homes, buildings and trees in Hadley, but is confirming five other twisters in the region Saturday night.

In addition to the Hadley tornado, weather officials say tornadoes also touched down near Reading, Iona, rural Murray County, just south of Lake Sarah and in rural Cottonwood County north of Windom.

Except for the tornado that hit Hadley, which was an EF-1, weather officials rated the others as EF-0.

Officials say most of the damage was done to corn and trees in those areas, but a few sheds and even one home took damage from the storms Saturday night.
