GRANITE FALLS (KMHL) – A Sacred Heart man was rescued after his boat became disabled on the Minnesota River in Granite Falls.

According to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a 911 call Friday afternoon shortly after 1:30.

The man told the dispatcher that his boat wasn’t running and he was holding on to a tree branch, but was unable to get to shore.

Authorities say Andrew Hanson, 24, of Sacred Heart was not injured in the incident – emergency responders were able to get Hanson back to the landing safely.
