DANUBE (KMHL) – The weekend turned fatal on a county road south of Danube. Sources say a woman who was seriously injured in a car accident Friday afternoon has passed away.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says Madison Vagle, 22, of Redwood Falls, was riding in a 1996 Subaru Legacy that was struck by a semi-truck driven by a 62-year-old Danube man.
Authorities say the semi failed to yield after stopping for the stop sign. The Subaru Legacy then collided with the semi.
Sheriff’s officials say the driver of the semi was taken to the Renville Hospital and the driver of the Subaru Legacy was taken to Carris Health – Redwood with non-life threatening injuries.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the crash.
