A's Suffer First Loss of the Season

The Marshall A's fell to the Luverne Redbirds, 6-3 suffering their first loss of the season.

Marshall's Nate Dickhausen started, he gave up five runs, four were earned in five innings of work, while Ben Korger and Jaron Christenson threw threw relief.

Tigers Sweep JCC

The Marshall Tiger baseball team swept a double header from Jackson County Central yesterday, beating the Huskies in dramatic fashion in the first game 7-6, then winning 11-3 in game two.

Dawson/Boyd and Minneota Win Camden Conference Meet

The Camden Conference Golf meet was held yesterday at the Marshall Golf Club.

The Boys golf tournament was won by Dawson/Boyd, who shot a 346, they won the tournament by 21-strokes, as Lac Qui Parle Valley was second with a 367. Canby finished third with a 370.

Easton Popma and Christian Thoen recorded the lowest rounds, the Blackjack teammates each shot an 81.

Tigers Get Big Sectional Win Over Morris

Marshall starter Aaron Mathiowetz was on his game yesterday, as he helped the Tigers beat a tough Morris squad.

Aaron Mathiowetz needed just 69-pitches yesterday in Marshall's 2-1 victory over Morris yesterday. Mathiowetz gave up just four hits, and struck out three in the game.

Schaeffer Drafted For Elite Juniors Hockey Program

A Marshall native was drafted this week to play hockey for the Chicago Steel Hockey team. That is a juniors program in the United States Hockey League.

Johnson Steps Down As Soccer Coach

After one season Pat Johnson is stepping down as the head coach of the Marshall Tiger boys soccer team.

Johnson who led the Tigers to a 4-10 record last season, doubling their win total from the year before, has submitted his resignation due to time constraints according to a published media report.

Johnson was just the second head coach in the history of the program, he took over for Brandon Thompson who resigned after the 2011-season.
