ST. PAUL (KMHL) – Do you have enough fuel to get home from a few days away over the Fourth of July? Hopefully, it won’t be a problem for you, but the state of Minnesota has been hit with a fuel shortage at an inopportune time.

Wednesday afternoon Gov. Tim Walz issued an Executive Order to alleviate the fuel shortage in the state. Some local gas stations across the state have been experiencing shortages because of unanticipated events at refineries in other states – disrupting the normal supply of gasoline.

Walz’s order grants a temporary exemption from the hours of service requirement in state law for commercial vehicles providing direct assistance delivering gasoline.
