Mustangs Head to Regional Championship

The Southwest Minnesota State Mustang men's basketball team is headed to the Central Region Finals, after their 77-69 win over MSU Mankato last night, in the semi-finals.

Ryan Krome led the Mustangs as he scored 16-points, icing the game down the stretch with a perfect 6 of 6 from the free-throw line in the final two minutes. Scott Roehl added 13 for the second consecutive game, and Andy Bielke finished with 11.

A Jake Morrow three at the end of the first half, gave the Mavericks a 4-point lead at the half, at 32-28, but a 49 point second half, sparked the Mustangs on their way to the victory.

Krome hit two big shots one a 12-foot jumper to tie the game at 42, the second a spectacular reverse layup to tie the game at 44.
