Well, the day that Southwest Minnesota Sate basketball fans
have been waiting for is finally here, as the Mustangs take the floor this
afternoon to do battle with California Poly-Pomona.
The Mustangs and Broncos
took different roads to today's quarterfinal, as Southwest downed competition
on its home court in the regional while Cal Poly won two games at a
sub-regional in Washington
before traveling again to knock off the Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii, handing them
just their second loss of the season. The key to the game for the Stangs could
be hidden in their bench, as Southwest has ten players that average more then
ten minutes per game, while Cal Poly has just ten players on their roster.
The
winner gets a date in the semi-finals with the winner of todays first
quarterfinal between AugustaState from Georgia and Christian Brothers
University of Tennessee tomorrow. All the coverage can be heard on 105.1 KARL
starting with the pre-game show at 1:00 PM with tip off from the MassMutual
center set for 1:30.
