Sterner to be Inducted int Wrestling Hall of Fame

The Southwest Minnesota State athletic department announced yesterday that former wrestling and football coach Mike Sterner will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Sterner was a standout at South Dakota State University where he was an all American in both football and wrestling for the Jacks. As a coach, he was the second wrestling coach in school history at Southwest, serving in that post from 1969 until 1998, when his son John took over. During that time he coached nearly 50 all-Americans. His run as football coach went from 1973-1976.
