71 Year Old Man Arrested In Shooting In Lyon County

A 71-year old man is in custodity and a 32-year old man has been air lifted to North Memorial Medical Center after a shooting in rural Lyon County. The Lyon County Sheriffs Office says around 3:30 yesterday afternoon they received a call of a shooting along 230th Avenue in Vallers Township, which is southwest of Cottonwood. The victim, told authorities that he had been shot and the house he was in was on fire. They arrested the 71-year old suspect, who was a resident of the property, in the driveway of the farm place. The victim was pulled from the smoke filled basement by deputies. The Lyon County Sheriffs Office and the BCA are investigating the shooting and fire. Authorities expect to have further information available later.
