Canby Woman Sentenced In Yellow Medicine County Drug Bust

The second person from a group eight people charged in a drug bust in Yellow Medicine County has been sentenced this week. 28-year old Rebecca Joan Larson of Canby was sentenced to 67-months in prison, with credit for time served. She also has to pay a 500-dollar fine, and 100-dollars in restitution to the county. Larson was sentenced on charges of second degree sale of a controlled substance. The charges stem from an investigation into the sale of perscription pills on March 24th and 25th. Larson was one of 10 people arrested in Canby and Porter in May as the result of that investigation. Eight of those 10 have been charged with drug related crimes. Larson is the second person from the group to be sentenced, two others have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing, while court proceedings are still pending on the other four.
